History of the Miss Auburn Scholarship Program

Since 1962 when the program was reorganized to be affiliated with the Miss America Scholarship Program, the pageant has continued to grow both in the number of contestants and the amount of scholarships awarded to become one of the largest local pageants in the state of Washington. In the late 1990s, this program awarded more local dollars than any other local program in the nation.

Auburn's first Miss Washington was Amber Hamilton in 1995 and Auburn-native and former Miss Auburn (2007) Devanni Partridge took the Miss America stage in 2009 as Miss Washington as a Miss Seattle titleholder. In 2010, the program added the Outstanding Teen Program and is being represented by 8th grader Naomi Moore.

Auburn is one of the first programs to select muliple queens (Miss Auburn Valley and Miss Auburn Auto Dealers) and continues to thrive under the leadership of the all-volunteer board of directors and an ever-growing fan base and with the help of local business and community members awards thousands of dollars in year in scholarship money to Auburn-area young women.
