How has the world you come from shaped your dreams and aspirations? I grew up in a big family, being the youngest of 4 girls, with 3 older sisters who I have always looked up too. With family members who dealt with addictions, to my parents getting a divorce when I was only 4 years old, I have overcome many family issues that have made me the stronger, independent woman that I am today. It’s because of my father’s never ending support, that I have been able to accomplish the many things I have, number one being my college education. My family has always been my support system to always follow my dreams of becoming a graphic designer and to making me feel I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.

Of all the ways you could succeed in your life, why have you chosen to succeed in the Miss Auburn Pageant? The Miss America program is an excellent way for young women to have the opportunity to grow into an intelligent and mature young woman. I have learned interview skills, time management, self confidence, and how to be an overall role model. Now I have the skills to acquire my life in a positive approach and use these tools in all aspects of my life.

What social issue, other than your platform, will have the greatest impact on your generation and why? An issue still impacting my generation is the social factor concerning interracial relationships. In today’s era, there are a lot of interracial relations, whether being friendships, relationships, or families; although with our older generations the concern is their acceptance of these changes. We live in a society where everyone has equal rights and no one should look down upon someone for making a friendship out of something they saw on the inside, looking pass the color of their skin.
