How has the world you come from shaped your dreams and aspirations? Besides the inspiration my family has given me throughout my life, I believe the one thing that had the biggest impact on my life are all the people I have met. In other words, the friends I have come across. Those people have and always will be an important factor in my life. They have shaped who I am today by motivating me to be the best possible person that I am able to be, and encouraging me to live for the future by assisting my own community. A large amount of the people I am referring to are children. They look to teachers as role models, and as someone to rely on. Children are a part of my ambition for the future because in reality, they are the future of our society.
Of all the ways you could succeed in your life, why have you chosen to succeed in the Miss Auburn Pageant? Succeeding in the Miss Auburn Pageant would give me the financial assistance that I need in these hard times. Other than that major factor of this opportunity, I imagine the pageant to be a superior experience for life needs. Within this experience, we all get to share new knowledge that we can use in the future. We have the advantage to make new friends, and beyond that, new sisters. Miss America is a woman that society looks up to because of the power that’s bestowed upon her. Her voice is one that is heard, and she can make a change. By trying to obtain the supremacy that comes with this name, means that I tried to make a difference. This program can help me promote my platform by helping me take the initiative to let it be known about our nationwide issue.
What social issue, other than your platform, will have the greatest impact on your generation and why? I believe that teenage drinking is definitely a problem that has only grown in recent years. While I personally am not this type of person, I have met several people in my life who have admitted to drinking before they have reached the legal drinking age. There are about 10.8 million underage drinkers in the U.S., according to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. It is worrisome to imagine what the future for these types of people will be like, especially with the media encouraging its popularity. In the young lives of teenage adults, it does not seem like a problem. As years pass, however, the hands of those young people may not be able to let go of that addictive drink.
